What Happens When You Call

We ask what the computer was doing when it failed, what is on it that cannot be replaced, and whether a business is waiting on it. That sets the order of work. If a drive may be failing or the machine may be infected, we tell you right then what to switch off and what to leave alone so the damage does not grow.

• A business machine that is down. The point-of-sale computer, the office server, or the one PC the shop runs on. Every hour matters, so we ask what has to work first.
• A deadline. A laptop that will not start before a presentation, a filing or a flight. If a full repair cannot finish in time, we look at a stopgap that gets you through.
