Quick Checks
Physical Connection
- Check mic is plugged in (usually pink jack)
- Ensure USB mic is connected properly
- Check if mic has on/off switch
- Verify mic isn’t muted
- Test mic on another device
Volume Check
- Check mic has volume control turned up
- Check Windows microphone level
- Ensure not muted in application
Privacy Settings
Enable Microphone Access
This is the most common fix:
- Settings > Privacy & security
- Click Microphone
- Turn ON Microphone access
- Turn ON Let apps access your microphone
- Scroll down and enable for specific apps
Desktop App Access
- Same settings page
- Scroll to Let desktop apps access your microphone
- Turn ON

Set Default Microphone
Through Settings

- Scroll to Input
