Data Recovery When Files Go Missing
Dallas-Fort Worth, On Site

When files disappear, the first hour matters. Every time a drive is used, there is a chance the data you want is overwritten. Our techs come to you, tell you what happened to the drive, and give you an honest read on what can be recovered.

Sometimes the files are still there and just need the right approach. Sometimes the drive has failed in a way that needs a lab. We say which one it is.

What we help recover

  • A drive that will not show up

A computer that does not see its drive, an external drive that does nothing when plugged in, or one that is now asking to be formatted.

  • Clicking, grinding or beeping drives

Noise from a hard drive is a hardware warning. The right move is to stop using it, and we explain why when we get there.

  • Deleted files and emptied bins

Files removed by accident or by someone else. Whether they can come back depends on how long ago and what has been written since.

  • Photos and documents from a dead computer

A laptop that will not start but holds family photos or business records. We work on getting at the drive.

  • USB sticks, SD cards and external drives

Cards from cameras and drives used for backup. These fail often and quietly.

  • Formatted or corrupted drives

A drive that was wiped, a partition that vanished, or an operating system that corrupted itself.

How a visit works

We ask what happened and what the drive has been through since, because that shapes what is possible. After the diagnostic you get a plain explanation of what is recoverable and a firm written price. We do not begin until you approve it.

We do not promise results we cannot see. If a drive has failed mechanically, we tell you your options, including an outside lab, before more is spent. Recovered files are handed back to you on drive or cloud storage you choose, and the work is covered by our 30-day labor warranty.

Diagnostic visit: $64.99 on weekdays, $84.99 if your location is more than 30 minutes from us, $109.99 if more than 45 minutes from us, and $150 if more than 1 hour from us or on weekends. The repair is priced separately, in writing, after the diagnostic.

Storage we see

Drives and media we handle most often:

  • •Seagate, Western Digital and Toshiba hard drives
  • •Samsung, Crucial and Kingston SSDs
  • •SanDisk and Lexar SD cards and USB drives
  • •WD My Passport and Seagate external drives
  • •Laptop drives from Dell, HP, Lenovo and ASUS
  • •Windows and macOS file systems

Recover, rebuild or let go

Recovery is not always the right call. We weigh:

Usually worth doing

  • •The files are valuable and cannot be replaced
  • •The drive is intact and only the file system is damaged
  • •The drive still responds, even if slowly

Points toward replacing

  • •The data is already backed up elsewhere
  • •The drive has physical damage, making a lab recovery the only option
  • •The cost of recovery is more than the files are worth to you

Once recovery is done, we help you set up a backup so this does not repeat.

Common questions

Should I keep using the drive?

No. Switch it off. Continued use can overwrite what we are trying to recover.

Can everything always be recovered?

No. Some failures cannot be recovered. We tell you what we find before you spend on a full attempt.

Is my data kept private?

Yes. We only look at what is needed to do the recovery and return it to you.

What about a water-damaged or dropped laptop?

Those are physical failures. We tell you what we see and what the options are.
