Laptop Repair Without the Drop-Off
Across Dallas-Fort Worth

A laptop is the one machine people cannot be without for a week. Shops want it dropped off, ask you to wait, and sometimes lose track of the charger. Our techs come to your home, office or dorm, look at the laptop with you, and give you a written price before any work starts.

We handle everyday consumer laptops, business models and student machines. Most repairs are finished the same visit when the part is on hand.

What we fix

  • Cracked or dead screens

Spider cracks, lines across the display, a screen that stays black while the laptop is clearly running, or a backlight that has gone dim.

  • Battery problems

A laptop that dies at 40 percent, will not hold a charge off the cable, or has a battery that has started to swell. We check the battery before blaming the charger.

  • Will not charge

The light comes on for a second and nothing happens, or the charger works on one outlet and not another. The cause may be the adapter, the port or the board, and we test them in that order.

  • Blue screens and boot loops

A laptop that restarts into an error, loads Windows recovery every time, or stops at the logo. We find out whether it is the drive, memory or Windows itself.

  • Keyboard, trackpad and port damage

Dead keys after a spill, a trackpad that clicks wrong, USB or HDMI ports that wiggle loose or stopped working.

  • Overheating and loud fans

A laptop that burns your lap, throttles when you open a few tabs, or shuts itself off. Dust, dried paste and failing fans are all common causes.

How a visit works

A technician arrives with the common tools and parts, and we open the laptop up only after we know what we are looking at. The diagnostic tells us what failed. You then get a firm written price for the fix, and we do not start until you approve it.

Some laptops need a part we do not carry. In that case we tell you exactly what is needed and what it takes to get it, and you decide whether to go ahead. When a repair is done, you test the laptop before we leave, and the work is covered by our 30-day labor warranty.

Diagnostic visit: $64.99 on weekdays, $84.99 if your location is more than 30 minutes from us, $109.99 if more than 45 minutes from us, and $150 if more than 1 hour from us or on weekends. The repair is priced separately, in writing, after the diagnostic.

Repair or replace

Laptops are the hardest call because so much is soldered down. What decides it:

Usually worth doing

  • •A screen, battery, keyboard or port on an otherwise healthy laptop
  • •A business class model built with replaceable parts
  • •A machine that still keeps up with what you do on it
  • •A fault tied to the drive or memory rather than the board

Points toward replacing

  • •Board level damage, such as liquid that reached the motherboard
  • •A repair that costs close to a comparable new laptop
  • •A processor too old for current Windows
  • •Several failures at the same time

If replacing is the honest answer, we say so and can help you move your files across.

Common questions

Can you replace a laptop screen at my home?

Usually yes, when the right panel is on hand or can be ordered for your model. We confirm the part first so you are not left waiting on a surprise.

Is it worth fixing an older laptop?

Sometimes. It depends on what failed, how the rest of the machine is holding up, and what you use it for. We give you the straight answer in the diagnostic.

Do you repair MacBooks too?

We service MacBooks for software problems, batteries and storage issues. Board level repairs on newer Apple machines are often not worth the cost, and we tell you that plainly.

I am a student. Can you come to campus housing?

Yes, in many cases. Tell us where you are when you book.
