Remote Computer Support
Fixed From Where You Are
Many computer problems are software, and software can be fixed without anyone coming to the house. With a remote session we connect to your computer over the internet, you watch the screen, and we work on the problem while you are there.
It suits email problems, printer and software setup, configuration trouble and certain slowdowns. It does not suit a dead drive or a broken screen, and we say so early.

What we can fix remotely
-
Email and Outlook problems
Mail that will not send or receive, Outlook that keeps asking for a password, or a profile that will not load.
-
Software installs and errors
Programs that will not install or open, error messages on start-up, and settings that need to be put right.
-
Printer and scanner setup
A printer that will not connect or scan to the computer. Often a driver and settings issue that does not need hardware.
-
Windows and update trouble
Updates that fail, features that stopped working, or an app that behaves differently since a change.
-
Business software support
Office programs and accounting software like QuickBooks that need configuration or troubleshooting.
-
Checking a machine before a visit
Sometimes a remote look tells us whether it is software or hardware, so a visit is only booked if it is needed.
How a session works
You call or book, tell us what is wrong, and we say whether a remote session can help. If it can, we send you secure remote access software, and you start the session. You watch every move and can end the connection at any time.
We quote the work in writing before the session starts, and nothing happens until you agree. If we find it is a hardware problem, we tell you and arrange an on-site visit instead. Work is covered by our 30-day labor warranty.
Remote sessions: quoted in writing before we connect. If it turns out to need a visit, the on-site diagnostic is $64.99 on weekdays, $84.99 if your location is more than 30 minutes from us, $109.99 if more than 45 minutes from us, and $150 if more than 1 hour from us or on weekends.

Remote or on site
We pick the route that gets you fixed. The factors:
Usually worth doing

- •The computer starts and connects to the internet
- •You are comfortable watching while we work
Points toward replacing
- •The computer will not start or connect
- •A part is broken or failing
- •The machine is infected, and trusting a remote session is risky
- •Cabling, Wi-Fi equipment or printers that need hands on
If remote will not work, you find out early, not after we have spent your time.
