Virus and Malware Removal at Your Home or Office
Dallas-Fort Worth

A virus is rarely the loud movie version. It is a browser that keeps sending you to the wrong site, a pop-up that says your computer is infected, a laptop that got slow the week after you installed something, or an account that sent messages you did not write.

Our techs come to you, work out what is actually on the machine, and tell you what it would take to clean it. We care about two things: getting the infection out, and making sure your files, logins and bank accounts are not left exposed.

What we deal with

  • Pop-ups and fake virus warnings

Alerts that claim to be from Microsoft or Apple and give you a phone number. These are scams, and they often come with software already installed on your machine.

  • Hijacked browsers

A new home page, a search engine you did not choose, extensions you never added, or ads on pages that normally have none.

  • Slow computers after a download

Bundled software, cracked programs and fake updates are how most machines pick up unwanted programs. The slowdown is often the first sign.

  • Ransomware and locked files

Files that will not open, renamed files, or a note asking for payment. We assess the damage first and talk through your options before you decide anything.

  • Stolen passwords and hacked accounts

If an infection could have seen what you typed, the clean-up includes thinking through which accounts are at risk and what should change.

  • Remote scammers who got access

If someone talked you into letting them on to your computer, we remove what they left and help you work out what else they may have reached.

How a visit works

We start by looking at the machine without changing anything, so we know what we are dealing with. You get a firm written price for the clean-up and nothing starts until you approve it. The work happens at your location while you are there.

After the clean-up we test the computer and walk you through what we found in plain words. If anything points to stolen information, we tell you directly. The work is covered by our 30-day labor warranty.

Diagnostic visit: $64.99 on weekdays. It is one flat visit fee, not hourly. The tier depends only on the drive from us to you: $84.99 if you are more than a 30-minute drive from us, $109.99 if more than a 45-minute drive, and $150 if more than an hour's drive or on weekends. The repair is priced separately, in writing, after the diagnostic.

Machines and systems we clean

Infections do not care about brand. We see them on:

  • •Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs from Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS and Acer
  • •Custom and gaming desktops
  • •Small office computers and workstations
  • •Mac computers with adware and browser hijackers
  • •Machines running Microsoft Defender, Norton, McAfee, Malwarebytes or no protection at all

Clean up or start over

Most infected computers can be cleaned. Sometimes a fresh Windows install is the better answer. We weigh:

Usually worth doing

  • •The infection is adware, a hijacker or unwanted programs
  • •The system files are intact and the machine runs normally otherwise
  • •The clean-up can be confirmed with a full scan afterward

Points toward replacing

  • •Deep system damage, where trusting the install again is hard
  • •Repeat infections on the same machine
  • •Ransomware that has encrypted the system itself
  • •A reinstall would be faster and safer than hunting through a damaged system

A reinstall is a bigger job and we quote it separately, with your files protected first.

Common questions

Will I lose my files and photos?

Protecting your files is the first priority. If a clean-up or reinstall puts them at risk, we raise it before you approve anything.

Is my antivirus not enough?

Antivirus catches a lot, but it misses things, and it cannot undo what you were tricked into installing yourself. We look at the whole machine.

A pop-up told me to call a number. Should I?

No. Real security software does not ask you to phone anyone. Close the window or turn the machine off, and call us instead.

Do you remove viruses from Macs?

Yes. Macs get adware and hijacked browsers, and we deal with them the same way.
